An international campaign to help abolish the death penalty, which still exists in 56 countries around the world.
In this campaign the point is made that the death penalty is inherently dehumanising and hence a violation of human dignity.
The approach poses questions around how we remove the ‘humanness’ of Death-Row prisoners long before we kill them - the defence mechanisms that turns a blind eye to how we as humans really feel about killing another person.
Launched in Brussels (and running in Asia and the US) the conversation is fronted by the Victorian Australian of the Year, and international human rights lawyer, Julian McMahon.
