Misfortune Cookies

People aren’t superstitious at Elsewhere. As a rule. But a decade after we brought Misfortune Cookies onto the market, we have seen Climate Change increase, wars escalate, democracies become divided and now a pandemic. We didn’t foretell any of that, we were just making jokes about improbable lucky numbers, too many children and partners that now all, but just in case there’s something in this ancient Chinese tradition, there’ll be no more bad juju from us for a while.
